“I just wear whatever’s comfortable on a daily basis. No need to look good.”
— Do you share this perspective?

A beautiful encounter
During a weekend hike in the valley, I met a Chinese sister by chance. We connected instantly, as if drawn together by magnetic force—I truly admired this friend on her spiritual journey.
Some time later, she visited my boutique as promised. She fell in love with a dress I designed and crafted, along with three qipaos. When she slipped on that dress, I gasped in delight the moment it touched her skin: “Wow! You look like a completely different person—absolutely stunning!”
It turned out she possessed such a delicate and graceful figure, yet her previous clothes had completely obscured her beauty—what a pity. These four pieces perfectly complemented her form and spirit, and she decided to take them all.
I was deeply grateful for her appreciation of my designs, and an idea took root: to give her a special gift—helping her create a personal image. My friend gladly accepted. In fact, during our conversation, she had kindly suggested that image design could be added to my business offerings. I realized her subconscious was telling me she needed help in this area.

The Starting Point of Image Design
So, how could I make this gift a reality?
First, I needed to truly understand her—her values, her preferences. Because clothing is the external expression of one’s “inner world,” the visualization of the invisible. An image that doesn’t represent the soul isn’t what I understand as image design.
The process of getting to know her went very smoothly, and our conversations were both enjoyable and insightful. When it came to everyday dressing, our perspectives clashed—and that clash sparked the theme of this article.
My friend’s view was: “For everyday wear, just dress casually. It doesn’t need to be stylish, just comfortable. Dress up a bit for special occasions—that’s enough.”
Her candor earned my respect. This is actually a common consensus, though I don’t entirely agree. Still, we can “agree to disagree.”

My Perspective: Everyday Life Defines Your Image
My view is this: If we spend most of our time dressed casually and without care, our overall image becomes defined by that state. Because our actions shape who we are. Is that truly the personal image we wish to project?
I firmly believe:
Comfort need not come at the expense of beauty;
nor should beauty require sacrificing comfort.
Whether we dress casually or thoughtfully daily reflects our attitude toward life and how much we value ourselves; how well we dress shows our aesthetic sense, and having style is about personal positioning.
What I want to do for her is use scientific, professional methods to best showcase her innate beauty, helping her find her most beautiful self.
A Beautiful Beginning
After hearing my perspective, my friend thought deeply and said honestly, ” You make a point. I’ve neglected my appearance too much, caught up in other priorities. I need to change.“
Her words warmed my heart, and I understood her completely. I encouraged her: ”With my guidance, daily dressing will become effortless and natural—a habit. Then it will feel easy and bring you so much joy!”
“Let’s do it! Right here in your newly opened store, let me take your ‘company founder portrait’ as a beautiful beginning. Bless yourself and bless the work you love!”

Postscript: Image management isn’t a burden—it’s a gentle act of self-care. When you treat your daily attire with care, life responds with its own beauty.
